Formula Vee: Two Podiums at Snetterton (Video)

Filed under: Formula Vee, Race Reports on July 18, 2007

When the dust settles from this chaotic weekend, it probably wont look so bad. Two more front row starts, a third place and a second doesn’t really give you much insight into what happened. The repercussions of this weekend will continue and I will make further posts shortly but for the time being, enjoy the video.

Martin, incidents in racing happen all of the time, sometimes you will cause some, some times you will be the victim of some. It will even it self out over time. However they should stay on the track and not be taken by over enthusiastic parents/friends of either drivers into parc ferme or team garages where things can be said or done in the heat of the moment which might be regretted in time. I have seen you, Dan, Martin and Jake race before and have seen some moves that have made me wince from all of you but I can not recall a deliberate dirty move (which at 100mph + takes some doing) you should take them as hard but fair racing moves with some mistakes by all of you and live with them. I would like to see the Fvee series continue as it has done in the past as a dam good club formula and not turn into the political bore which is F1 where good drivers and connections are punished for doing something they all enjoy and that is race. Jarno Trulli got sacked by Briatore because he fell asleep and was overtaken at the last corner.

You get dumped by GAC because you DID overtake at the last corner…..

I hope whoever took that decision has read the book by the man who tuned down the Beatles.

[...] After Snetterton, we had to switch from our regular GAC team to the established AHS outfit. Our first meeting at Brands Hatch was a distinct success (two pole positions, a 2nd place, a win and fastest lap) but it was in fact, more than that. The switch gave us an introduction to Alan Robinson, who has now become the key to my Formula Ford campaign. [...]
